After Yelp and Foursquare, Google started making improvements to its local search results page “Google Places” by distributing “Recommended on Google Places” stickers that can be sticked to walls or windows in the offices. For now it is getting distributed as a trail in Portland, USA. I heard similar kind of RFID technology with Sony’s Felica technology which is getting used for downloading local maps in train stations in Japan.

Google supporting this with it’s latest Nexus-S phone, when you take the phone in front of the black dot in red balloon and wait for couple of seconds or by just waving it in front of the sticker, that’s it your mobile device/phone will get a “Google Places tag” recorded.
